Digital Artist
I've always enjoyed expression through art, experimenting with different mediums, I even enjoyed the critiques. In school I made frames and painted on canvas, did pen and ink sketches and some performance art. In college I took an interest in photography and enjoyed mixing it with graphic design to create unique images. I enrolled in a digital art class and was introduced to Photoshop. I was so amazed by this software and what it was capable of, I purchased my student copy of Photoshop 3.0 and immediately installed it on my trusty Mac G3. I slowly left the world of painting and drawing behind for a new, high-tech world of computers and creative software mixed with traditional photography. I started with SLR 35mm cameras, developing film then scanning it into my computer to alter in Photoshop. After a year of developing film the first prosumer grade digital cameras were starting to pop up and the promise of capturing images digitally and transferring them straight into a computer for manipulation was becoming a reality. I soon abandoned traditional film processing in favor of the faster digital workflow and direct import to Photoshop which is where I wanted to spend my time. Since then I have continued to use digital photography conjointly with design software to create art and marketing collateral for several clients and companies over the years. I developed an interest in video while working as a production artist and jr. level motion graphics artist on a TV show early in my design career. I enjoyed it so much that I started studying video production in my spare time. Video is now my preferred medium and I also work as a Digital Imaging Technician in the entertainment industry. I am excited about the future of digital video and will continue to study and work towards advancing my skills in the trade.
